But, he’s had success before, as he led his U13B team to a Silver Medal victory at the 2022 Provincials with his previous softball club. These victories echo his commitment to excellence, dedication, and strategic finesse that enables him to motivate his players. In hockey, he's also witnessed success as he coached his 2012 HSL team to victory and clinched a championship banner along the way.
Before transitioning to coaching, Coach Jamie cut his teeth in the game, with an impressive eight year playing career in softball and three years in hardball. This playing experience serves as a foundation for understanding the nuances of the sport and honing a keen sense of strategy and competition. Whether grabbing a glove on the softball field or gripping a bat, Coach Jamie's dedication, skill, and love for the game has defined his playing career which is marked by countless plays, victories, and an enduring appreciation of the strategy and determination needed to succeed at the highest levels.
At the core of Coach Jamie's coaching philosophy is the creation of a dynamic culture characterized by high effort, a fearlessness in the face of mistakes, and an unwavering pursuit of competitive excellence. Coach Jamie believes that mistakes happen, and we should learn from them, but not fear them. He also understands the power of a united team, emphasizing that it's not just a group of individuals, but together, it can be a powerful collective force. Above all, the softball field is a place where Coach Jamie believes fun reigns supreme and the best efforts are going to come to those that want to be there and have fun. He hopes that every player eagerly anticipates showing up to his practices, successfully competing, and having fun on the diamond.
There is no doubt in our minds that Coach Jamie has the experience and the know-how to lead our U15 Black team to victory this season.
